Tailored Match

Terms of Service

Effective November 1, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Tailored Match, LLC ("Tailored Match," "we," "us"). They apply when you visit our website, use our installable app, or create an account. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Tailored Match.

2. What Tailored Match is, and isn't

Tailored Match helps candidates and employers find each other based on shared values and work preferences. We score compatibility, show profiles and postings, and unlock messaging when both sides express interest.

We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or an employment agency, and we are not a party to any hiring decision, job offer, or employment relationship. Employers decide whom to interview and hire; candidates decide which opportunities to pursue. We don't guarantee that any match will lead to an interview or a job, and match scores are a starting point for conversation, not a judgment of anyone's qualifications.

We review business information during employer verification, but we can't confirm everything users tell us. Use your own judgment before sharing sensitive details or accepting an offer.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use Tailored Match. If you create a company account or post jobs, you confirm that you have authority to act for that business and to accept these terms on its behalf.

4. Your account

Keep your login details secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for activity under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, email team@tailored-match.com right away. To protect accounts, we may temporarily lock sign-in after repeated failed attempts.

5. If you're a candidate

Keep your profile, questionnaire answers, and resume accurate and your own. You decide what goes on your profile. Employers can see parts of it while browsing, and a matched employer can see your full profile and open your resume, as described in our Privacy Policy. Incognito mode hides your name and photo from employers until you mutually match, and company exclusions keep you from being shown to companies you choose.

6. If you're an employer

Post only real, currently open roles with accurate descriptions. You're responsible for complying with all employment laws that apply to your hiring, including laws against discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship or immigration status, and other protected characteristics. Information about work authorization and sponsorship needs may be used only as the law permits.

Use candidate information only to evaluate candidates for roles you post on Tailored Match. Don't copy, export, sell, or share it with anyone outside your company's hiring team, and don't use it to market other products or services.

The company owner is responsible for the team members they invite, for their activity on the account, and for removing access when someone leaves.

7. Background checks

Tailored Match does not currently offer, order, or provide background checks or consumer reports, and nothing on the platform is a consumer report. Employers may not use Tailored Match to make eligibility decisions that require a consumer report. If an employer runs its own background check outside Tailored Match, it is solely responsible for complying with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and any related state and local laws.

If we offer background checks in the future, we will provide the disclosures the law requires and ask for your separate, written authorization before any check is run. We won't treat your acceptance of these terms as that authorization.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Tailored Match to harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone; to post false, misleading, or fraudulent jobs or profiles; to impersonate a person or business; to collect fees from candidates; to send spam or unsolicited promotions; to scrape, copy, or harvest data; to interfere with the service, test its security without permission, or get around access controls; or to break any law. Keep messages respectful and relevant to hiring.

9. Your content

You own what you post, including profiles, resumes, postings, answers, messages, and feedback. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, and process that content only as needed to run, secure, and improve Tailored Match. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for the reasons in our Privacy Policy.

If you submit a testimonial or success story, you also allow us to display it publicly on our website and marketing materials, credited the way you chose (by name or anonymously). You can ask us to stop using it at any time, and we'll remove it from our website within a reasonable time.

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Messages and moderation

Messaging opens only after a mutual match, and either side can unmatch at any time. We don't routinely read private messages, but we may review them, along with other content, when someone reports a problem, to investigate abuse or fraud, or when the law requires it. We may remove content or limit features to keep the community safe.

11. Employer plans, trials, and billing

Tailored Match is free for candidates. Employers pay per recruiter seat, billed monthly, at the prices on our Pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe, and by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms.

Automatic renewal. Paid seats renew automatically every month at the then-current price until you cancel. New companies may get a free trial for the length shown when they sign up. A trial does not turn into a paid subscription on its own: when it ends, your postings stop unless you choose a plan and subscribe. We'll remind you in the app before your trial ends.

Canceling. You can cancel or pause a seat anytime from Settings → Billing, or by emailing team@tailored-match.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. A paused seat stops billing and freezes its postings; if it isn't resumed within 90 days, it's canceled automatically.

Adding or removing seats mid-cycle may be prorated. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or where we decide to issue a refund. Prices don't include taxes, which you're responsible for. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a price increase applies to your plan.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Tailored Match at any time. To delete your account, email team@tailored-match.com from the address on your account, and we'll delete it as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put other users at risk, or expose us to legal liability. Where we close an account for serious or repeated violations, we may block the email address from signing up again. If we close a paid account without cause, we'll refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.

13. Third-party services

Tailored Match relies on other services, such as payment processing and push notifications, and may link to outside websites. We're not responsible for those services, and their own terms apply when you use them.

14. Disclaimers

Tailored Match is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information posted by users is accurate.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tailored Match and its team won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the service or from any interaction or employment decision between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to these terms or the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

16. Indemnification

If you use Tailored Match for a business, you agree to defend and cover Tailored Match against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your hiring decisions, or your violation of these terms or the law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Updated terms apply from their effective date; if you keep using Tailored Match after that, you accept them. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect.

19. General

These terms, with our Privacy Policy and any plan details shown at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and us about Tailored Match. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.
