Privacy Policy
Effective November 1, 2026
The short version
We collect what's needed to match candidates and employers and to run the service. Employers see a limited view of candidates until both sides match. We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for targeted advertising, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. You can hide your name with incognito mode, exclude companies, and ask us to delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Tailored Match is operated by Tailored Match, LLC ("Tailored Match," "we," "us"). This policy covers our website, our installable app, and related emails and notifications. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2. Information you give us
Account details. Your name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), and whether you're a candidate or an employer.
Candidate profiles. Your photo, headline, bio, location, desired role, preferred employment types, salary range, whether you're authorized to work and whether you'll need visa sponsorship, your resume, your answers to our workplace-values questionnaire, and which questions you marked as priorities.
Employer and company details. Business name, website, industry, logo and cover images, culture description, job postings, and your company's questionnaire answers. When you invite teammates, we collect their names and email addresses. For business verification, we collect a contact name, email address, phone number, and any notes you add.
Communications. Messages between matched users, feedback and support tickets, consultation requests, and any testimonials or success stories you choose to submit.
3. Information we collect as you use Tailored Match
Activity. Likes and passes, matches and unmatches, companies you've excluded, notification preferences, and settings such as incognito mode.
Sign-in security. When you try to sign in, we record the email address used, your IP address, the time, and whether it succeeded, so we can block password-guessing. These records are deleted automatically after about one day.
Push notifications. If you turn them on, your browser creates a push subscription (a delivery address and encryption keys) that we store so we can send you alerts. Turning notifications off removes it.
Error reports. If something breaks, we receive technical details about the error and the page where it happened so we can fix it.
Billing. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and billing details from Stripe, but never your full card number.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to create and secure your account; calculate match scores and show you relevant candidates or postings; unlock messaging when a match is mutual; send sign-in codes, account emails, and the notifications you've chosen, including trial reminders; process employer payments; verify businesses and review flagged sign-ups; answer support requests; prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; fix problems and improve the product; and meet legal obligations.
We don't use your information to build advertising profiles, and we don't sell it.
5. Who can see your information
Employers, before a match. When employers browse candidates, they see your headline, location, desired role, preferred employment types, match score, and your work authorization and sponsorship status. They also see your name and photo unless you've turned on incognito mode. Companies you've excluded won't be shown your profile.
Employers, after a match. Once you and an employer both express interest, that employer's hiring team can see your full profile and open your resume, and you can message each other. Either side can unmatch, which ends the conversation and hides it from both of you.
Candidates. Candidates see company profiles and job postings, and after a match, the employer's messages.
Your company's team. Teammates invited by a company owner can see that company's postings, matches, and candidate information.
The public. Testimonials and success stories may be shown on our website, credited by name or anonymously, as you chose when submitting.
Our team. A small number of Tailored Match staff can access account information to provide support, verify businesses, and investigate abuse or reports. Staff can review messages from ended conversations during the 30 days we keep them. Otherwise, we access private messages only when needed to investigate a report or when the law requires it.
6. Service providers we rely on
We share information with companies that run parts of the service for us. They may use it only to provide those services. They include Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage, including resumes), Lovable (application hosting, sign-in and account emails, and error reporting), Stripe (payment processing, under its own privacy policy), Google Fonts (which receives your IP address when our pages load fonts), and the push services built into your browser (such as those run by Google, Apple, and Mozilla), which deliver notifications you've turned on.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect the safety and rights of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply to your information.
7. Cookies and local storage
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember whether you've dismissed our install-the-app prompt. Clearing your browser data will sign you out and reset those choices.
8. Work authorization and other sensitive information
Some state laws treat immigration or citizenship status as sensitive personal information. We collect whether you're authorized to work and whether you'll need sponsorship only so employers can find roles that fit your situation. We show it to employers as described above, and we don't use it to infer anything else about you. Please don't put information such as health details, Social Security numbers, or financial account numbers in your profile, resume, or messages.
9. Background checks
We don't currently run or offer background checks. If we add them in the future, we'll update this policy first, explain what information would be collected and who would receive it, and ask for your separate, written permission before any check is run. Choosing not to give that permission won't affect the rest of your account.
10. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, resume, answers, and activity within 30 days. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, in billing and tax records we're required to keep, or where we need it to resolve disputes or prevent fraud.
Messages you've sent stay in the conversation for the person you matched with. When a match is ended, the conversation is hidden from both sides. We keep its messages for 30 days so our team can review reports of abuse or fraud, then delete them automatically. If we close an account for serious or repeated violations of our Terms, we may keep the email address on a blocklist so it can't be used to sign up again. Sign-in security records are deleted after about one day.
11. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, turn on incognito mode, exclude companies, and change notification settings at any time. You can also email team@tailored-match.com to request a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account.
Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct, and delete it; to receive a portable copy; and to limit our use of sensitive personal information. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use sensitive personal information beyond what's needed to provide the service.
To make a request, email team@tailored-match.com from the address on your account. We'll confirm your identity before acting and respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days. You can use an authorized agent, and if we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
12. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, database access rules that limit each user to the data they're allowed to see, private storage for resumes, sign-in rate limits, and restricted staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
13. Age requirement
Tailored Match is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has created an account, please email us and we'll delete it.
14. Where information is processed
We're based in New York, in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you use Tailored Match from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
15. Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
